Micaela M. Alvarez, Esq.

Micaela Alvarez opened her office in August of 1998 to serve the immigrant community. 

​

Micaela was born in Cuba. As a child, she came to the United States as a refugee in 1970 on the Freedom Flights, which was the largest airborne refugee operation in American history. She was raised in Hudson County. She graduated from Drew University with a degree in political science. She received her J.D. from the Ohio State College of Law. She served on the Hudson Community College Board of Trustees from November 1998 to January 2003. She has been participating in the Cooperative Business Education Program with the High Schools in Hudson County for more than 20 years. Micaela served as a panelist on the Matrimonial Early Settlement Program of Hudson County.

Member of the New Jersey Bar and the Immigration Lawyers Association.

Francisco Joubert, Esq.

Francisco joined the office in 2023. He represents clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and in interviews before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

​

Prior to joining the office, Francisco practiced law in San Juan, PR. He is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico. He earned his J.D. from Catholic University School of Law. He is the recipient of the Dr. Santos P. Amadeo Award in Human Rights Defense. He has over twenty years of experience.
